Lansdowne Child Care & Family Centre has proudly provided quality, affordable child care since 1981.

A place that celebrates inclusion, belonging, and learning through play.

Who We Are.

We are a passionate, experienced team dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable child care for children aged 13 months to 12 years. As a non-profit charitable organization, Lansdowne Child Care & Family Centre operates with heart, integrity, and a deep commitment to the families we serve.

Established in 1981, LCCFC is a registered society under the Societies Act of Alberta, with oversight from a volunteer Board of Directors elected each September. We’re proud to call Lansdowne Elementary School home—a space where learning, laughter, and belonging are part of every day.

    Philosophy

At Lansdowne Child Care & Family Centre, we believe that every child is capable, unique, and deserving of respect. Our inclusive approach welcomes children of all cultures and abilities, with a strong emphasis on belonging, dignity, and guided exploration. We foster meaningful relationships with families and the community, and support learning through play as the foundation for growth and discovery.

    Mission

Our mission is to provide a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where children can thrive. Through responsive care and thoughtful programming, we nurture each child’s social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. In partnership with families and our broader community, we create early learning experiences that are rich in connection, curiosity, and joy.

    Programming

Our daily programs are built around the principles of play, exploration, and relationship. We follow the Flight: Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Framework, offering activities that support all areas of development—fine and gross motor skills, communication, creativity, and social connection. Children engage in music, stories, outdoor play, crafts, loose parts, and hands-on learning that reflects their interests and needs.
